Innovation and technology

Eliminate harm through technology:

What... are we going to do in 2021 and what are the benefits?

Eliminate harm through technology and innovation:

  • Continuation of the Eliminating Harm Showcase
  • Reducing plant idling to drive carbon and emission reductions

What... outcomes will we measure in 2021?

Every contract to provide one Eliminating Harm Showcase Case Study with successful innovations and ideas implemented through the Learning Organisation Model.

  • Development of a WiiSE Strategy Innovation Plan to ensure effective implementation of the best SHE related innovations across the business.
  • Plant telematics to be used across the Group to reduce idling and emissions on every Contract.

Specific targets

12. All relevant contracts to provide an Eliminating Harm case study.
13. Innovation Plan developed and operating by the end of 2021.
14. Reduction in idling by 20% and a new 20% plant fleet efficiency improvement.

What... benefit does this bring to our stakeholders?

Eliminating harm is part of our decision making 'DNA'. Every opportunity is taken to design out hazards, reducing design and operational risk. We take advantage of technology and innovative ideas and ensure that the process behind their development is captured with outputs shared across Group Operations, facilitating wider learning. Using our 'Digital Showcase', we present our leading-edge ideas clearly, with a focus on adopting them into 'business as usual', to the benefit of our internal and external stakeholders.

Our ongoing drive to reduce carbon emissions through education, enhanced fleet standards, monitoring and behaviours supports our 2035 zero carbon goal while heightening standards of performance across our ecosystem.
